CSR (corporate social responsibility) is something that has grown in importance for Larson Group as our business has become more firmly established. We are a fast-growing recruitment firm and with staff numbers increasingly rapidly we have recognised the need to think carefully about ways to work together for a common cause and to cement ourselves as part of the local community.
To this end, ten of us will be riding the 72 miles from Wetherby to Filey on the 16th June 2012 for charity. Six of the Larson team haven’t ridden a bike for at least ten years and in my case it’s nearer 20 years. The challenge is significant but the decision to take part has been an important one for us as individuals and colleagues.
I believe CSR is closely linked with the ethos of a business. Our key emphasis as a company is to attract the right people and to create an environment that means they want to stay with us. By doing things together we are helping to build our team and by supporting the Great Yorkshire Bike Ride and its charities – Candlelighters, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Heart Research UK, Hollybank Trust and Wetherby District Lions – we feel we are making an important contribution to the community we work in.
My own fundraising target is £500 and I hope this will be the first of many CSR initiatives from Larson Group.
